Urban Dance Chronicles

Urban Dance Chronicles is a USDD street dance performance format centred on storytelling through freestyle movement. Dancers respond to music and creative prompts to express a narrative in their own style. The format brings performance, improvisation and individual interpretation together for an audience.

How does Urban Dance Chronicles work?

Dancers use music, prompts and movement to develop a story in the moment. Creative prompts can include cards or props, depending on the edition. The focus is on how each dancer interprets the track and communicates an idea. The selection process, performance length, judging and production setup are confirmed for each event.

What can audiences expect?

Expect individual movement styles and different approaches to expressing emotion, character and narrative. Visual production can support the stage experience, with the actual technical setup depending on the venue and edition. Dancers can contact USDD about future participation. Include your style, experience, a performance or freestyle video, and your preferred location.
