Safeguarding at USDD Networks

USDD Networks is committed to the welfare of children and young people taking part in our dance classes, workshops, rehearsals and performances. This page summarises our safeguarding and child protection policy. Parents and carers can request a copy of the full policy from our team.

Who does our safeguarding policy cover?

The policy covers children and young people under 18 and sets out responsibilities for staff, guest teachers, volunteers and other USDD representatives. Every child should be treated with respect, regardless of their background, identity, ability or circumstances.

How do I report a safeguarding concern?

Contact our designated safeguarding lead, Sue Chesaina, through info@usddnetworks.co.uk or 07513 192618. Tell the team promptly if you have a concern about a child’s welfare or conduct at an activity. If a child is in immediate danger, call 999.

How are concerns handled?

Our policy asks staff to listen calmly, take concerns seriously, record relevant information accurately and pass it to the safeguarding lead. Staff should not promise secrecy or investigate allegations themselves. Information may be shared with the appropriate safeguarding authorities when necessary to protect a child.

What should parents and carers know?

Please share relevant emergency contact and access information through the booking process. Speak to the team about collection arrangements, support needs or photography consent before an activity. Our policy also sets out safer recruitment, staff checks and safeguarding training responsibilities.
